If You Can't Get Legal Aid for Your Criminal Trial (English)

This booklet is for people who face serious and complex criminal charges but have been denied legal aid and they can't afford a lawyer. It explains how to make a Rowbotham application - how to ask the judge to stay your charges until the government gives you funding for a lawyer. The booklet explains what you have to prove, how to prepare for court, and what happens in court. It has the forms you need to make a Rowbotham application and includes instructions on how to complete them. The French version doesn’t include recent updates that are in the English version.
